science---you're-doing-it-wOur world is a vast place, and we know less about it. It is a very mysterious world wherein we make so many questions on why things happen and why such exists. Our minds are always challenged and puzzled about a number of things occurring in our surroundings. Humans are curious individuals that usually strive hard to be knowledgeable about things and are very observant with its environment. Earthquakes, typhoons, rain, other natural phenomena, technological advancements, space and the human body are only some of the phenomena that can now be explained because of what we call science. Every object and phenomena in our universe is included in the scope of science. Therefore, it becomes very vital to understand and learn these things in schools and other institutions to be aware of everything that humans need to know in order to be productive and help make the most out of things from the environment.

Science is commonly defined as a process that generates knowledge about the physical world, and it assists in discovering answers to many queries. In every institution, education about science is always part of the curriculum. It has been present for a number of years already and since scientists are always on the go, there is so much for the people to know. There are still many phenomena in our universe that is still hard to understand but having been able to understand the basics in science makes one a knowledgeable entity. Science has many branches and then some of these that are usually taught in schools and colleges include Earth Science, Chemistry and Biology.

Earth Science is all about examining the structure and processes on earth. It includes natural occurring events that people experience in their daily lives. This also includes the earth’s resources, weather and the different changes that our planet has experienced and will experience. Basically, being educated about the earth makes people aware of their responsibilities in taking care of our planet. If one is unaware of the possible effects of man’s hazardous activities, surely damage and destruction is bound to happen, and it will affect every single individual in our planet. There are still many important things that are under this branch of science and learning them will surely make people more conscious about the environment they live in.

Chemistry is another branch of science taught in institutions; it is all about the study of different properties, composition and structure of matter. Because of inculcating chemistry to people, many are inspired to create substances that are very helpful in our lives like detergents, preservatives, synthetic materials and many more. People knowledgeable about chemistry are able to understand chemical reactions and are able to experiment on these things. The products of chemistry are contributing much in our society, and it will also help explain why such reactions occur in a certain event.

Biology which studies life is one of the most important branches of science. It explains bodily processes of living organisms and helps people understand their own body. Studying biology will increase the awareness of people regarding their health and can understand what their body needs to continue functioning normally. It also helps experts discover possible treatments and surgeries for many alterations in the health of humans. This is not the only scope of biology as it involves other subdivisions like microbiology, which is the study of living organisms such as bacteria and its classifications. Knowledge about these organisms enables man to understand certain diseases and help experts in searching for a cure. This goes hand in hand with chemistry and other sciences.

Science is very significant to the human existence, and it is a must to absorb and learn by heart all the things being imparted by educators to the people. Science paved the way to the birth of technology, and it is the reason why people are living a much better life today in comparison to the old times. It aided in the discovery of new things that are of great use to the people and provided people the knowledge to build and create machines and equipments that would help people prepare for certain threats like hurricanes, tsunamis and weather changes. It also helped people find solutions to existing problems in our society. The benefits we have gained from studying science is really countless and the continuous process of teaching every single person about science will surely produce many aspiring scientists soon  and help our world become a better place to live in.
